Xero sync error: Missing GL account for bank account [bank account name]

Why the sync error occurs

This error occurs when a payment can't sync to Xero because the GL account for the bank account isn't selected in sync preferences.

How to fix the sync error

  1. Select Preferences from the sync status page
  2. Select the edit icon
  3. Select the applicable GL account for the bank account indicated in the error message
  4. Select Save
  5. Sync again
